Larry,
Where did you get to see one of my guitars? Who owns it?

Thanks for the compliment, too. It was much needed after the hard time I was given by a few guys last week...and they were guys who don;t even know me and have never played or seen my guitars!

All the Best,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega GuitarsKevin Gallagher38835.5794675926

Rod I've had customers who even get little cameras in their to inspect your work,
Russell, man, keep those customers away from me!
That would be the anal customers - they probably also stick them where the sun don't shine too
This could actually be another topic, but I'll try and ask it here and see if I
get any responses. Just wondering how you guys make your cuts in the
kerfing to fit the braces in. Thanks again guys. I really appreciate your
time, help, and knowledge.

Peace,

Ross
It seems to be common practice to continue the braces right to the sides - and, let them into the kerfing by notching the kerfing.

Is there some bad thing that happens if you cut the braces (and feather them) short of the kerfing?

Is continuing them under the kerfing done to prevent the braces from coming loose? It seems to me that, if they are feathered down to nothing, that shouldn't happen anyway.

Or, is it a sound thing?

Phil

Hi Kevin,

Guy in Philly airport last week...my travels were taking me thru the area and I have a "guitar case" radar when I'm out wandering the airports! Looked to be a small jumbo shape...and SWWEEET!

thing learned from john mayes and at bourgeois is a table under the belt sander with a top hinged at back. at front have a method with all thread or something you can work with to raise top at an angle to belt sander. find a something for reference for thickness and feed end of braces top or back on table and sand to thickness. i use .080 binding, I sand the back and x braces only. i use same thing to set dremel and then cut kerf and side keeps every thing at same level for gluing, I probably didn't explain this to well but maybe john can take a photo of his deal. mine not set up at shop where work right now.

Lance,
No, nothing happened here at the the OLF or with anyone affiliated with it. It was at another forum that is known for rudeness. It isn't the forum that it once was, but is only a ghost of its former self when people were friendly and careful abut the effects of comments made to one another that can reach far beyond any thread's content.

I rarely visit it unless someone steers me toa thread of interest there and that was the case in this instance.

Thanks for asking, though,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars
